Elbe cycle route in Ústí nad Labem Region – construction after the year 2010

The exhibition presents all sections of Elbe cycle route carried out by Ústí nad Labem region after the year 2010. These sections are all located between Hněvnice and Děčín. Our exhibition also shows further construction which was carried out by individual cities: Ústí nad Labem, Děčín, Roudnice nad Labem and Litoměřice, partially even before 2010. Thanks to all of the participants mentioned above is Elbe cycle route in Ústí nad Labem Region becoming a bike path with no motorized traffic offering safe and pleasant ride.

In the Ústí nad Labem Region, its length is more than 90 kilometres and connects towns like Štětí, Roudnice nad Labem, Litoměřice, Ústí nad Labem, and Děčín. On the way, the cyclists can visit, for example, the Lobkowicz chateau in Roudnice nad Labem, the world famous Terezín town, the historical centre of the Litoměřice town, the Střekov castle, and the Děčín chateau. A unique experience is the way through the Porta Bohemica valley, where the Elbe river formed a remarkable landscape with the deep canyon carved into the Central Bohemian Uplands.

Elbe cycle route in Ústí nad Labem Region begins in Hněvice where lies the border between Ústí nad Labem Region and Central Bohemian Region. The section from Hněvice to Roudnice nad Labem stretches over roughly 15 km and is almost in its full length a bike path with no motorized traffic. Part of the path near Hnevice was constructed in 2020, thus is one of the newest parts of Elbe cycle route in all of Ústí nad Labem Region.

Some spectacular places to be visited on this section Elbe cycle route are the Lobkowicz castle in Roudnice nad Labem. You can also take bike path no. 3102 from Roudnice nad Labem to the mythical mountain of Říp.

Section of Elbe cycle route Roudnice nad Labem – Litoměřice – Ústí nad Labem

From Roudnice nad Labem to Litoměřice the path follows the river Labe on both sides. The main rout goes through Lounky, Křešice and Třeboutice. In 2020 a brand new section was built between Nučnice, Křešice and Třeboutice. The rout continues from Litoměřice through wine region of Velké Žernoseky to Ústí nad Labem. Most of the path in the sector Roudnice nad Labem – Litoměřice – Ústí nad Labem is a bike path with no motorized traffic. However in some parts it is still on secondary roads.

The sector between Roudnice nad Labe and Ústí nad Labem offers a great amount of tourist destinations. You can visit the beautiful royal city of Litoměřice, the impressive fortifications of Terezín or just enjoy a pleasant ride through the valley of Porta Bohemica.

Section of Elbe cycle route Ústí nad Labem – Děčín

The rout from the regional capital Ústí nad Labem to Děčín is approximately 25 km long and is almost in its full length a bike path with no motorized traffic. Parts of this sector were one of the first parts of the Elbe cycle route to be built by the Ústí nad Labem regional government. The construction of some of the started in 2010.

You can make some beautiful stops to see the breathtaking destinations of this sector of the Elbe cycle route. In Velké Březno you can visit the castle with its amazing gardens. People who love a glass or two of good beer can take a tour in the Březňák brewery and taste some of Czechs finest beer. The town of Děčín can also offer a stunning castle and a wonderful ZOO. You can also conquer the via ferrata of Pastýřská stěna (Shepherds wall).
