Tips | Elbe cycle route

We will start the trip in the regional town of Ústí nad Labem, where we will get on a cyclobus in the morning and be driven to the village of Tisá. From there, we continue along cycle route No. 23 and join route No. 3017 at the fork to Ostrov. Passing beautiful rock formations, we reach the village of Ostrov and cross the state border into Germany. The countryside is further beautifully rocky and the road leads through forests on gravel or asphalt. Through the villages of Ottomühle and Bielatal we reach the fortress of Königstein. Before that, however, you can stop at the nice lookout point Spanghornaussicht, from where you have a very nice view of the fortress. The viewpoint is about 200 m off the trail and the way to it is by stairs. Leave your locked bikes under the lookout. Then there is a nice descent and in the town of Königstein you join the German part of the Elbe Trail, which is called the Elberadweg. On the route between Ostrov and Königstein we recommend checking the map from time to time. The signposting of secondary cycle paths in Germany is not as good as here :)

From Königstein, stick to the Elbe and after about 25 km you will get back to the Czech Republic. You will cross the beautiful Elbe Canyon through Dolní Žleb to Děčín. Here we recommend a stop in the summer months to take a dip in the Aquapark, which is almost right next to the Elbe Trail. From Děčín it is only about 25 km via Velké Březno with a nice castle to Ústí nad Labem.

Transportation by cyclobus to Tisá

The cyclobus of the Ústí nad Labem Transport Company under the designation of line 21 runs in the 2023 season from 7 April to 29 October. This always on weekends and public holidays, and every Wednesday during the summer holidays. See the table below for the cyclobus timetable. You can check the current timetable at this link.

Another way to get your bike from Ústí nad Labem to Tisá is the green line bus of the Ústí nad Labem Region Transport with the number 452. It has bike racks. It runs daily from 1 April to 29 October and can carry a maximum of 6 bikes at a time. Timetable of this line.
