CYCLING TRIP TO THE CASTLES OF THE BOHEMIAN CENTRAL HIGHLANDS

The medium-long trip will take you to two beautiful castles and also to the hills and nature of the Bohemian Central Highlands. The trip is 57 km long and even a moderately fit cyclist can manage it.
The trip starts in Ústí nad Labem, from where you can follow the Elbe Trail downstream. Via Svádov and Valtířov you will reach Velký Březno, where you will join the cycle route No. 3066. The route will lead you through the hills of the Bohemian Central Highlands to the royal town of Litoměřice.
But before that, stop by the local castle in Velké Březno. Here is a beautiful garden, which especially in spring is full of colour. You can also take a tour of the castle here. Then continue along route 3066. Already at the edge of Velký Březno, a gentle climb begins and continues for about 7 km. You will pass through Byňov, Lhota pod Pannou, Homoly u Panny, Haslice to Řepčice, where you will reach the highest point of the trip. Enjoy the view and then head down to Ploskovice. Here, don't miss a visit to another castle. The local peacocks will surely welcome you at the entrance. The beautiful and very large garden is worth a visit, as well as the interior of the castle in which tours take place. You can refresh yourself in the local café, stylishly called Café Peacock. You should keep your bicycles in the garden of both castles.
From Ploskovice, it is only a short walk to Litoměřice, where you can park your bicycle in the cycle garage and go on a tour of the historic town centre. In Litoměřice you will leave the cycle route No. 3066, which ends here and connects to the Elbe Trail. Along the Elbe River, you will then return to the regional town of Ústí nad Labem through the Porta Bohemica Valley. Here you will be greeted by Střekov Castle and if you have not had enough of the sights, take a tour here.
